Leyna Belinsky (born 30 November 1984) is an Alumni Member of Eta Chapter (Η 846) at Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP)

Early Fraternity Life and Career

Leyna decided to attend IUP because it was the only state school in Pennsylvania that had interior design as a major. She began as interior design and then switched over to communications media. Having hated her first semester at IUP, Leyna was ready to transfer. She decided to stick it out the entire year and ended up rushing Phi Sigma Pi the following semester. If she wouldn't have gotten a bid, Leyna would have transfered schools.

In her Initiate Class Leyna served as class secretary. She loved every second of my Initiation and appreciated all her Initiate Adviser taught her, crediting him with making her the Brother she is today.

Collegiate Years at Eta Chapter

After becoming a Brother, Leyna knew she would be one of those brothers who wanted to do everything. Her first year she served as co-chair of the Scholarship Committee with Darcee. It was a great position to ease into the Chapter.

The following year Leyna served as Historian, a position that she loved and gave her a lot of creative freedom.

At the end of that year Leyna had to make a decision. She could either run for President or Initiate Adviser. She wanted IA but had a lot of pressure to run for President. She ran for President and was honored to win. Her final year as an undergrad was as President of Eta Chapter.

Eta Chapter won the IUP Homecoming float competition the year Leyna was president. Beating all of the social Greeks felt really good and was a great moment for the Chapter.

Leyna attended the 2006 Grand Chapter Conference in Kansas City, the 2006 National Convention in DC, and 2007 National Convention in New Orleans. She was a delegate in Kansas City and Alternate in New Orleans.

Alumni Years to Present

Leyna recenyly became an alumna which makes her really sad. She misses everyone at IUP so much, especially the Chapter. Leyna understands the role alumni need to play and plans to be the best alumna she can be.

  • National Convention 2006
  • Grand Chapter/Convention 2007

Bigs and Littles
