Collegiate Years at the Delta Iota Chapter
Marcus Yazzie (nee Hosteen) was born on October 28th in Shiprock, New Mexico on the Nation Nation. He graduated from Shiprock High School in May 2010 before moving to Las Cruces, New Mexico for his collegiate studeies. Upon moving to Las Cruces, Marcus became actively involved with a number of student organizations including the NMSU Honor College's society - Phi Eta Sigma.
Marcus first heard of Phi Sigma Pi when he received an email invite for the fraternity's Recruitment Events. There he meet Roxanne De Luna, who would go on to become his Fraternal Sibling as the two shared the same Big. Marcus took part in the Chapter's recruitment for the Fall 2011 Semester as part of the chapter's Phi Initiate Class. He was paired with his two Bigs, Travis D. Gee and Megan Atencio, and with their support was inducted as a member of Fraternity in November 2011.
Upon becoming part of Phi Sigma Pi, Marcus served as a Chapter Officer, among these included the Chapter Treasurer, Vice President and President. In addition he also served as the Chair for the Service, Fundraising and Alumni Relations committees. Marcus was instrumental in updating the Chapter's Family Trees and increasing the Chapter's presence on the campus.
National Involvement
Marcus attended the WICKED conventions in 2013 (Phoenix, AZ) and 2014 (Greenley, CO) and also was the Chapter Delegate for National Convention 2013 (Philadelphia, PA) and National Convention 2014 (Atlanta, GA).
Bigs and Littles
Marcus' has Two Bigs in Travis D. Gee (Alumnus) who currently resides in Arkansas and Megan Atencio (Alumnus) who is in the Peace Corps. currently in South Asia. Marcus has two Fraternal Siblings in Michael Row (Alumnus) and Roxanne De Luna (Alumnus), whose Big is Travis.
