After graduating from Monaca High School in Monaca, Pennsylvania, Mike Lash decided to attend California University of Pennsylvania where he majored in English/Literature. In his junior year, he joined Phi Sigma Pi after several close friends and Brothers recommended it. The idea of an honorary Fraternity that prided itself on high values appealed to him. In Spring 2008, Mike earned his bid and during his Initiation period, served as Initiate Class Vice-President. He was Inducted into Kappa Chapter with the Alpha Pi Mu Initiate Class.

During Mike's years with Kappa Chapter as an Active Brother, he held a high attendance and strived to bring more event ideas to the Chapter.  He continually participated in Rush events including Rush barbecues and Table Hours on campus.  He continually worked on Public Relations, having the California University of Pennsylvania's Lions Club co-sponsor a Homecoming float with Kappa Chapter.  Mike served as Brother at Large at Kappa Chapter in his third semester as a Brother.  Also during his third semester as a Brother, he served as Inter-Chapter/PR Committee Chair.  Mike also aided the Social Committee in planning the Winter formal.  Mike spent his time as Brother at Large helping develop more tools to help Brothers communicate with each other such as an anonymous email account where Brothers could document any disagreements they may have with the Chapter or specific members without potentially causing conflict.

Outside of the Chapter, Mike served offices within a number of other clubs and organizations.  He was the President and currently Immediate Past President of Lions Club, Vice-President of Inter-Residence Hall Council, Carter Hall Council Advisor, Secretary, treasurer, and President of Sigma Tau Delta Honorary English Society and a Peer Instructor within the University Bands.  Additionally, he was a Community Assistant in Carter Hall.  Mike utilized his connections on campus to constantly spread good Public Relations towards prospective Brothers. During his final year at California, Mike took a drop in attendance and went inactive for his final semester to focus on helping his family repair and sell his father's house whom had past away from lung cancer during his freshman year.

After graduating from California University of Pennsylvania in May 2010, Mike moved to Conway, South Carolina to work and save money for graduate school.  He spoke with students and administrators at Coastal Carolina University with regards to starting a Chapter of Phi Sigma Pi.  Mike is an active member of the National Development Committee and joined the National Alumni Association in June 2011.  Mike has since participated in every NDC project presented to him.

While far from Kappa Chapter, Mike has still attempted to aide them in their efforts to grow including speaking with former residents and prospective Brothers about Intiation.  Mike also assisted in constructing the 2010 Homecoming float as an Alumnus.  Beginning in July 2011, Mike is residing in Greensburg, PA and attending Graduate School at California University of Pennsylvania to earn a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Additionally, Mike worked with Alumni in the Greater Monongahela River Area (Morgantown, WV through Pittsburgh, PA) and was the founder of  an Alumni Chapter in the region. In November 2011, Mike, alongside many Alumni officially founded the [[Greater Monongahela Alumni Chapter]]

After graduating from Monaca High School in Monaca, Pennsylvania, Mike Lash decided to attend California University of Pennsylvania where he majored in English/Literature. In his junior year, he joined Phi Sigma Pi after several close friends and Brothers recommended it. The idea of an honorary Fraternity that prided itself on high values appealed to him.
