We recently announced that the 2009 National Convention will be taking place in Louisville, Kentucky. We are very excited and have heard from many chapters who are already preparing to attend. How does your chapter build excitement and where do you find funding for registration?

Alpha Chapter is receiving funding from the university to go to Convention after hearing about the idea at Convention. During Grand Chapter this past summer many chapters shared that their universities provide funding to send students to various conferences to represent their schools. Does your university? If you haven't asked yet this is a great way to receive funding. Check with your Student Government and also Office of Student Affairs to see if any similar funding programs exist.

Maybe your chapter has had a strong recruitment program and will benefit from the <a href="http://phisigmapi.org/CollegiateResources/Recruitment/IncentivePlan/tabid/298/Default.aspx">Recruitment Incentive Plan</a>. The purpose of the plan is to recognize chapters and award them with a Convention registration for long term membership development planning.

Does your chapter hold fund raising event specifically to raise money for Convention? Do you have good fund raising events other chapters could use, <a href-"http://wiki.phisigmapi.org/pspwiki/index.php?title=Fundraising">share them</a>.
