National Philanthropy

2000, Youth of America

At the 2000 Grand Chapter Conference, Youth of America was selected as our National Philanthropy. Youth of America was intended to be a loose theme as opposed to an organization. The intent was to allow chapters and members to organize service events as they saw appropriate in their communities that would benefit our youth. In the November 2000 Purple & Gold the decision was explained as such;

"Our National Philanthropy is only a focus, not an organization. Freedom is yours! We only ask that in the future you devote time and energy to making a different in the lives of the youth of your community because they are our future brothers and indeed, the future of America."

2003, Teach For America

At the 2003 Grand Chapter Conference the Grand Chapter decided to dedicate our philanthropic efforts around an organization. The Grand Chapter selected Teach For America.
