Early Fraternity Life and Career

Nick enrolled at Saint Joseph’s University in the Fall 2010 after graduating from Holy Ghost Preparatory School in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. As a freshman, he was looking to become more involved in some student organization on campus. Nick wanted to grow more as a person and believed the combination of scholarship, leadership, and fellowship would do just that. He saw flyers for a new organization on campus and decided to attend an info session. He rushed Phi Sigma Pi in the Spring of 2010 and was one of the original founding members of the Zeta Iota Chapter. Nick officially received a bid from Phi Sigma Pi on April 17th, 2011. Nick has only missed one Chapter meeting during his time as an undergraduate.

Collegiate Years at Zeta Iota

Nick started out as the Chapter’s ICR chair while also serving on the scholarship committee. He learned a lot about how Chapters functioned and brought it back to the Zeta Iota Chapter. The connections he made as ICR Chair helped him when he was elected Regional Delegate. Nick was in charge of the service event at the Regional Conference at Drexel University and organized Brothers to write Valentine’s Day Cards to the patients at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. While he was Regional Delegate, Nick also served as Historian. When he was Historian, Nick brought to the Chapter several new ideas which the Chapter still uses today. He introduced “Brother of the Month”, “Photos of the Month”, made photos available online via Google Drive, organized Zeta Iota's first ever Composite with help from student photographers at Saint Joseph’s University, and created Chapter's Family Tree Lines. During his 2nd term as Historian, the Vice President at the time resigned due to a new internship she received. Nick ran for Vice President and he was elected. Nick made the attendance for events available online, eliminated committee breakouts during Chapter meetings, and attempted to have Chairs meet Bi-Weekly for better planning of events. There was Executive Board Elections towards the end of the semester. Nick ran for President and Vice President but was elected President by the Chapter. Shortly after the election, Nick found out he would be acting President for the Chapter a couple of days after the election. Some of Nick’s goals during his time as President were Buckets (reworking Chapter requirements and disciplinary action), Plan of Action Forms, Regional Conference, Campus Wide Event, Improving Communication among the brotherhood, increase transparency, have Brothers submitting amendments, and improve the transition process. Nick was also elected as the Alternate National Delegate for National Convention in Philadelphia. He made some lifelong friends and made strong connections with Chapters from California, Seattle, Nevada, Texas, and further with Philly Metro Chapters. He learned a lot a lot of valuable knowledge about Roberts Rules, How other Chapters operate, and better understanding how National Council/Staff function. Nick was unable to get to one of his goals of a Campus Wide Event during his Presidency and is currently a Co-Chair for the ad-hoc Campus Wide Event Committee. The event is a 5 on 5 Dodge Ball Tournament and all the proceeds goes to the National MS Society which will take place on May 3rd, 2014. He is in charge of Fundraising and Logistics. Nick has been very passionate about having a campus wide event because he believed it will significantly increase Zeta Iota's presence on Campus.
