Rex "Joey" Card (born 8 July 1978) is an Alumnus of Alpha Rho Chapter (AP 470) at Virginia Tech.

Early Fraternity Life and Career

Rex rushed Phi Sigma Pi in Spring 1999. After a successful Initiation period, Michael was Inducted into the Chapter with the Omicron Initiate Class in April of that year.

Collegiate Years at Sample Chapter

During his time as an undergraduate Brother, Rex was a leader within the chapter, serving as both Initiation Chair and Infosystems Chair. In addition, Rex was an actively involved in Alpha Rho service events and fellowship activities and was a regular player on the Chapter's intramural sports teams. In 2001, Rex was awarded the Spirit Award at the Chapter's Founder's Weekend banquet. At the 2002 Alumni Weekend, he received the Alpha Rho Tripod Scholarship for his excellence in all three legs of the tripod.

Outside of Phi Sigma Pi, Rex was a member of the Virginia Tech crew team.

Alumni Years to Present

After graduation, Rex remained in Blacksburg, where he continues to live and work today. He has worked for several IT companies as a web developer and is currently employed by Tele-Works as an IT Project Manager.

Rex has remained very active with Phi Sigma Pi as an Alumnus.

Ageless Wonders Flag Football Team

He participates in the Chapter's Alumni Buddy Program with Initiates, attends many of Alpha Rho's events, and has hosted several "Welcome Back" cookouts at his home to kickoff the school year. In March 2003, Rex was elected to a three year term on the Alpha Rho Alumni Advisory Board, of which the last year he served as Chair. In addition he was a member of the Ageless Wonders, a flag football team comprised of Alpha Rho Alumni who won the Alpha Eta Hopebowl tournament three consecutive years from 2003-2005. For his dedication as a local alumnus, he was awarded the Above and Beyond the Call of Duty (ABCD) Award by the Chapter. In 2006, to recognize his continued dedication to Alpha Rho as a local Alumnus, the ABCD Award was renamed the Rexford J. Card Exemplary Local Alumni Award.

In July 2006, Rex was married to the former Erin Collins near Blacksburg.
