Steven Cruise (born 13 April 1989) is an Active Brother of Alpha Upsilon Chapter (ΑΥ 531) at the University of South Carolina.

Early Fraternity Life and Career

After graduating from Berkeley High School, Steven enrolled at the University of South Carolina in Fall 2007. Being an active participant in organizations during High School, he wanted to continue participating at USC. During his first semester, Steven joined the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). Although he enjoys being a member of ASME, it was not what he was looking for. Looking to get more involved his seconded semester, he learned about Phi Sigma Pi from a bulk mailing invitation. Steven was skeptical at first of Greek letter organizations, always hearing that they were all the same and should be avoided. After learning that Phi Sigma Pi was 1/3 Honor and 1/3 Scholarship based, he decided that it can't be all that bad and attended a informational. Liking what he had learned, he Rushed in Spring 2008. After being pinned, Steven was elected as Initiate Class President for his class, Alpha Iota. Alpha Iota was Alpha Upsilon's largest initiate class in their chapter history.

Collegiate Years at Alpha Upsilon

In Fall 2008, Steven was appointed to the social committee, but he continued to actively be involved in fellowship, scholarship, service, and initiation committees as well. This involvement fueled Steven's desire to do what he could to help his brothers, and his chapter. As a result he won Alpha Upsilon's Service to the Fraternity award. In early Spring 2009, he started to work closely with the Historian to maintain the website. Soon after, he learned about the Phi Sigma Pi Wiki. Later in the semester, Alpha Upsilon hosted the Southeast Regional Conference. This Conference exposed Steven to Phi Sigma Pi on a national level. In Spring 2009, He was appointed as Co-Initiate Advisor for the 2009-2010 school year. After attending the 2009 National Convention, Steven, along with several other Alpha Upsilon Brothers and Alumni, are deliberating how to take an established chapter and start a new, more nationally recognized chapter in Alpha Upsilon's History.

In the 2009-2010 school year, Steven is serving as the Co-Initiate Advisor.
