Early Childhood and Life

Kelsey is the fourth child of Paul and Jill Bonham. She has three brothers: Brandon, Kyle and Taylor along with an older sister: Courtney. She is the aunt to Ari and Elena Kaplan and a sister in law to David Kaplan and Mallorie Bonham.

When Kelsey was only a year old, she was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Yolk Sac Tumor. At the time she was diagnosed, there was no cure. She turned out to be one of the experimental babies to help find the cure. Because of this cure, Kelsey lost her hearing and is now deaf.

While growing up deaf, Kelsey attended mainstream schools and interacted with other students her age. While she was in middle school, she learned to paly the viola and was first chair. She is also known for not letting her deafness get to her and she will fight to be treated just like anyone else.

Kelsey attended high school at Lassiter High School in Marietta, GA. While there, Kelsey was in the Lassiter Trojans Marching Band. She received two 1st place BOA medals and one 1st place local medal. She was also in Winter guard while attending the school.

Kelsey is now attending Kennesaw State University where she is a member of the Kappa class in Phi Sigma Pi Epsilon Nu.
