Since 2003, Phi Sigma Pi has partnered with Teach For America to provide corps members, supplies, and monetary support. At the 2007 National Convention, National President Jonah Goodman announced the newly created Teach For America Grant program that is open to any Alumni currently working as a Teach For America Corps Member to further improve the learning environment in their class rooms. Alternative Break Project

2008 Phoenix, Arizona

January 6-12, thirteen Brothers participated in the first Teach For America Alternative Break Trip to Carl T. Smith Middle School in Phoenix, Arizona.

2009 Shelby, Mississippi

January 4-11, 2009 Within the one week of the Alternative Break Project, volunteers will construct two playgrounds at Shelby Middle School. One playground will be designated for the 5th and 6th graders and will consist of a jungle gym and swings. Another playground will be designated for the 7th and 8th graders and will consist of a blacktop with various educational stencils and a basketball goal.
