Early Life and Education

He was born in Tiruvalla, Pathanamthitta District on 11th June 1958 as the son of Kallooppara Neythalloor Mannil P.George and Aanicaud Paarolickal Reychal George. He did his schooling at St.Joseph High School & college education at Mar ivanios college, Trivandrum

Career

He started his political career on 1975 as an active member in Congress party. He was the district president (Trivandrum) of K.S.U in the period 1981-82. And all the 5 years in college, he was the member of college union. He holds the record of being selected as the college union councilor with the highest margin of votes ever. Also he was the member of Kerala University senate in the period of 1981-82. He was also selected for University union accounts committee from senate too. Abey George was the first senate member to be selected from Mar ivanios college, Trivandrum. Then he went on to hold several positions like Member of National Monitoring Committee for Notified Minorities, Independent member for Minimum Wage Board by Govt. of India, Member of Film Censor Board of Kerala Region, Director of Kerala Tailoring Welfare Board, General Secretary of District Congress Committee and Executive Member of Kerala Pradesh Congress committee where he had the opportunity to closely align with a cross section of citizens.

It was while he was in the midst of his political activities that he started realizing the futility and superficiality of his existence. He felt the need and the calling from deep within to do something worthwhile and useful. His involvement with a few cancer patients and the visits he had to make to the RCC became the turning point of his life. The agony and suffering he witnessed made him realise how blessed we are. He started questioning himself about as to what we are running about after. The sick divided hurry of the world make us run after transient things. We are always busy and do not have time. If only we can stop to think. He did and realized that there is enough and more time if only we have the heart. He decided to keep aside some of his time for the unfortunate sufferers.

His recent endeavor was as the Secretary of the charitable trust Swasthi which requires special mention as it won unprecedented public acclaim. 'Snehathalam' or the rhythm of love was an innovative endeavour to make the public aware of the fatality of breast cancer. Free breast cancer screening was done with the help of a panel of renowned doctors. The second phase of its activities is underway. His future seemed to be with the suffering and the distressed. The death of a dear friend due to cancer lightened his path. Swasthi became his spring board and backing to realize his pain. He placed his concern before the board of trustees who immediately gave him the green signal. From then on it was a marathon which keeps going without any break.
