Matthew Bolcar
Matthew R. Bolcar (born 19 October 1979) is an Alumnus of Beta Nu Chapter (BN 115) and an Active Alumni Member of Capital Chapter in Washington, DC.

Early Fraternity Life and Career
Matthew attended Cornell University in 1998, and during his freshman year lived across the hall from Beta Nu's initiate advisor Patrick Ryan. It wasn't long before Matthew was convinced to join the Chapter, and was formally inducted in the Spring of '99. In the Fall of '99, he was elected to serve as the Chapter's Historian and Parliamentarian. The following year, while being away on Co-op, Matthew took part in the election of Beta Nu's 2001 officers via telecon, having not even met the latest inducted class; he was elected Vice President.
Matthew received his B.S. degree in Engineering Physics with a concentration in Optics in 2002, and received his Ph.D. in Optics from the University of Rochester in 2009. He is currently working as a Research Physicist / Optical Engineer for NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD.
