Early Fraternity Life and Career

Alex enrolled in Northern Kentucky University, in Spring 2008, following graduating with his Associate's Degree from the University of Cincinnati in Fall 2007. The University of Cincinnati followed his graduation from Western Brown High School in Mount Orab, Ohio in June 2005. During his junior year in college, Alex found himself needing to discover both himself and a purpose in his collegiate years and after receiving a letter from Phi Sigma Pi as well encouragement from another initiate, Emily Devers, he chose to take an active role and initiated in Fall 2008. Successfully completing his initiate training alongside thirty-four other members, Alex was inducted on November 5, 2008 into the newly formed Epsilon Rho chapter.

Collegiate Years at Epsilon Rho Chapter

Early on in his involvement with Phi Sigma Pi, Alex was chosen to be the chapter's first Historian [Fall 2008 - Fall 2009] as well as co-founded the idea behind the "Biggles" program in hopes of creating a stronger bond between the chartering initiate class which was meant to take effect during the Brotherhood Retreat during that last week of Fall semester but due to difficulty at having such schedules during the late winter months, the Biggles were assigned at the last meeting of the Fall semester of 2008. Staying active for a year, Alex had to apply for early alumni status in the Fall of 2009 due to continual conflicts with his schedule as a member of a social fraternity on campus.

National Involvement

Alex has yet to get involved nationally, and since graduation has not connected with another PSP chapter.

Alumni Years to Present

Since graduation from Northern Kentucky University in 2012 with his Bachelor of Science - Mathematics degree, Alex applied and was accepted to work for the Corporation of National and Community Service through a domestic PeaceCorps program started in 1965 by President Lyndon B. Johnson. He served his first year with Snow College, located in Ephraim, Utah, working to develop and implement a community partnership program that would give students the opportunity work with local non-profit organizations through either the Snow Service Club or through the service-learning courses offered at the two-year college. In 2013, he was relocated to Clark State Community College - Greene Center, in Beavercreek, Ohio to create and implement a peer mentoring program that will focus on assisting students in developmental education courses. In 2014, Alex returned to Northern Kentucky University as a Volunteer Coordinator through the Office of Student Engagement, working directly with the all-freshmen leadership and community service organization Freshmen Service Leadership Committee. During that role, he helped advise 11 leadership retreats a year; created a new campus tradition, Big Pink Volleyball, that raises money for Breast Cancer research through a partnership with the St. Elizabeth Hospital Women's Health Breast Center; and oversaw all community-wide service projects.

Bigs, Littles, and Alum Chums

With the hard work of their Alumni Adviser, Christopher McCoy, each of the founding members were given an Alumni in which they are able to talk with, ask questions, and gain a better understanding of the fraternity as a whole. Alex was given Kyle Williams, who was the National Vice President of Chapter Development at the time.

Due to being the chartering class, each member of Epsilon Rho was given another member to act as both a big and a little, which has been collectively referred to as the "Biggles" program. Alex's Biggles is Emily Devers.
