Matthew Newmeyer (born April 6, 1990) is an Alumnus and Chapter Service Key recipient of Alpha Epsilon Chapter at West Chester University of Pennsylvania.

Early Fraternity Life and Career

Matthew decided to attend West Chester University of Pennsylvania after graduating from Cicero-North Syracuse High School in 2008. In the Spring of his freshman year, Matthew received an e-mail invitation to attend an information session about Phi Sigma Pi. Matt never had intentions before then to join a fraternity, but he was attracted to the emphasis placed on scholarship and leadership, specifically. He also saw this as a great way to meet people outside his major department.

Matt instantly fell in love with the Brothers and the organization at the info night and attended every Rush event. He received a Bid and was pinned as part of the Alpha Sigma pledge class in early 2009. After a successful Initiation program Matthew was Inducted in April 2009.

Collegiate Years at Alpha Epsilon Chapter

Before his first full Active semester as a Brother Matthew was elected to the position of Public Relations Chair for the Fall 2009 semester, and selected to be the Alternate Delegate at the 2009 National Convention in Louisville, KY. Upon returning helped with recruitment for the Alpha Tau pledge class along with advertisements/raising awareness for ICR events throughout the semester. In the Spring of 2010 Matthew attended his first Regional Conference, hosted by Alpha Epsilon, which was still part of the East Region. At the end of the semester Matt was elected to the position of Parliamentarian for the 2010-2011 academic year. He also attended the 2010 National Convention in Harrisburg, PA that summer.

In his role as Parliamentarian, Matt focused on bringing all the Brothers in the Chapter up to speed with Robert's Rule of Order. He held an informative presentation at the beginning of the Spring 2011 semester that outlined basic procedures and terminology. He encouraged all Brothers to get involved in debates and tried to create an atmosphere where everyone felt comfortable sharing their thoughts. He helped Brothers navigate Chapter and National documents and was a valuable resource throughout his undergraduate career for Parliamentary Procedure. That spring he attended the first Philadelphia-Metropolitan Regional Conference hosted by Alpha Eta, and over the summer attended the 2011 National Convention in Washington, D.C.

During Matt's last year at Alpha Epsilon he held the position of Regional Representative and helped plan the 2012 Philadelphia-Metropolitan Regional Conference hosted by Gamma Xi. He was head of the Scholarship Committee for the Conference. In his role he was responsible for organizing the roundtable discussions and the keynote speaker(s).

After graduating, the Brothers at Alpha Epsilon awarded Matthew with the Chapter Service Key in the Fall of 2012.
