Tess started attending Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, as an undeclared major in the fall semester of 2007 after graduating from Warren County High school in Front Royal, Virginia. She worked for Undergraduate Admissions and the Welcome Center during her freshman year. In the spring semester, she declared Pre-Nursing as her major. In April, she recieved a Dean's Scholar Award.
