The role of the Phi Sigma Pi Chapter Vice President is one of great responsibility. It can also be quite rewarding. The following document is a guideline to help you have a successful term as the Chapter Vice President.

According to the Phi Sigma Pi National Constitution, there are six duties of the Chapter Vice President. It should be noted, however, that this document is not all-inclusive for each chapter. These should be considered the minimum duties and your school/chapter may choose to assign further duties at their discretion.

Role of the Vice President

According to Article XI, Section 6 of the National Constitution, The Vice President shall:

  • Be responsible for all duties of the President in the President's absence
  • Act as coordinator and serve as an Ex-officio Member of the Chapter's Standing Committees excluding the Executive Board
  • Accept all official responsibilities and obligations deemed necessary by the President
  • Appoint all non-elected positions in the Chapter with the approval of the Executive Board
  • Solicit reports from all the chapter officers and committees/committee heads
  • Be a voting Member of the Executive Board
