There are many ways to have an effective and fun recruitment. It’s all about knowing what resources are available to your chapter. The most effective PR is oftentimes cheap and easy to do - it just takes some creativity! Here are a few advertising methods, ideas for giveaways, tips for chapter websites, and tips for successful meet nights to help get you started.

Advertising Methods

Advertising Phi Sigma Pi is a 365 days/year job. Don’t wait until a week before rush to start recruiting! You can attend campus organization fairs, decorate campus showcases, and wear your letters year round. Here are some other advertising methods to consider:

Giveaways

Giveaways are a great way for prospective members to remember Phi Sigma Pi. Printing our logo and your chapter’s website address on something that people can use every day is a great and easy way to be remembered. Many companies will print logos on various items for cheap.

Chapter Website Tips

Your chapter’s website is going to be the first impression that prospective members get of Phi Sigma Pi. You’ll want to make it as professional, welcoming, and easy to use as possible. The following is a checklist for a high quality chapter website.

• Brother profiles
• Phi Sigma Pi national and local history
• Information about the upcoming rush events
• Prospective information sheet
• Chapter event calendar
• Chapter Officer contact information
• Link to the national website
• Link to Teach For America
• No alcohol pictures (even in the Brothers Only section)

Tips for a Successful Meet Night

Information Nights are the first time perspective members are going to see you in person. It’s important to make a lasting impression on perspectives, so that they want to participate in the following rush events, as well as participate in Brotherhood events once they are inducted. The following is a brief summary of the Do’s and Don’ts of an information meeting.
