Andrew was raised around Richmond, VA, and began at VCU in Fall 2005 as a Computer Science student. He considered minors in Business and French upon entering, and sought out student organizations and groups of people on campus that meshed well with his interests.  This led him to pursue membership in his second semester with the VCU Chapters of [http://www.thetatau.org Theta Tau Professional Engineering Fraternity] and Phi Sigma Pi.
