| − | Josh chose Virginia Tech for its campus and co-operative education program. He joined Phi Sigma Pi in the spring of 1993, after meeting several brothers on campus and holding a general desire to avoid traditional fraternity life.

| − | Josh jumped headlong into Phi Sigma Pi leading the Gamma Initiate Class as President, and building Alpha Rho's first road trip (to [[Tau Chapter|Tau's]] first open Founder's Weekend in April 1993). Over his college years, he participated in the growth of Alpha Rho as Initiation Chair, PR/Inter-Chapter Chair, Alumni Chair, and President. With Alpha Rho's nomination and support, he was on Virgina Tech's Homecoming Court in 1996 running with the off-beat campaign "Just Happy to be Here." In 1996 the chapter awarded him the Chapter Service Key; the award was presented by his little [[Jeffrey Sugar]].
