Kayla Newberg (born 01 May 1989) is an Active Member of Alpha Sigma (AΣ 240) at Virginia Commonwealth University. She is the 2008-2009 Regional Delegate and the Spring 2009 Initiate Advisor for Alpha Sigma.

Early Fraternity Life and Career

At Mount Olive High School in Flanders, NJ, Kayla was the Editor-in-Chief of her school newspaper and was very involved in community service. After graduating Kayla decided to attend Virginia Commonwealth University because it was as far away from New Jersey as her mother would possibly let her go. Kayla was looking for an organization that would allow her to connect with other people while at the same time helping the community. She found Phi Sigma Pi in the Spring of 2008 as a second semester Freshman and brought her best friend Alisha Kellam to rush with her. After attending the Open Rush and a successful Initiate period, she was inducted with the rest of the Upsilon class in the Spring of 2008.

Collegiate Years at Alpha Sigma

After her induction, Kayla was elected Inter-Chapter Relations Chair for the fall of 2008, where she helped organize a trip for several Alpha Sigma brothers to attend a Kickball Tournament at the Delta Chi chapter. She also represents her chapter in the Capitol Region as the Alpha Sigma Chapter Regional Delegate. She was recently elected and will serve as Initiate Advisor for the Spring 2009 semester.
