Melissa Stewart(born 26 June 1988) is an Active Member Of Alpha Sigma Chapter (ΑΣ 241) at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Early Fraternity Life and Career

After graduating from Warren Hills High School in Washington, NJ, Melissa was eager to relocate. It was definitely time for a change and Virginia Commonwealth University provided just that. Having been very active in high school extracurriculars, she was searching for the perfect organizations VCU had to offer. After receieving a Phi Sigma Pi flier in her mailbox, she decided to check it out. She attended a few events and decided this was just what she was looking for. After an exciting and enriching Initiate period, she was inducted with the Upsilon class in Spring 2008.

Collegiate Years at Alpha Sigma Chapter

During her first semester as a Brother, Melissa was Service Chair. During this time, she planned and executed several events, including Stockings For Soldiers, a collection drive to support deployed soldiers. Stockings For Soldiers was pioneered in the Fall of 2007 by then-Service Chair Jet Aiken and will hopefully become an annual event. Melissa served as the Public Relations Advisor for the Spring 2009 semester, helping to connect the chapter to the community in a number of different ways and successfully promoting the Spring recruitment drive that brought in 24 Initiates. In Fall 2009, Melissa served as the Initiate Advisor for the Psi Class of Alpha Sigma Chapter.
