Phillip M. Vaughan (born 26, February 1987) is an Active Member of Alpha Sigma Chapter (ΑΣ 247) at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Early Life

Phillip Marrae Vaughan was born to William Irving and Nancy Pearson Vaughan on February 26th, 1987, in Richmond, Virginia. He grew up and currently resides in Richmond, Virginia, enjoying the comforts of living close to his family. He attend the J.E.B. Stuart Elementary School in the Northside of Richmond. Once he completed his education there, he attended Binford Model Middle School, located in Richmond's Fan District. After he completed his education there, he attended, Maggie L. Walker Governor's School of Government and International Studies, also known as MLWGS.

College Life before Phi Sigma Pi

Phillip decided to attend Virginia Commonwealth University during his senior year at MLWGS. Having heard of Phi Sigma Pi halfway through the second semester of his sophomore year while he was pledging another fraternity, the Kappa Gamma Chapter of Theta Tau, he made it a goal of his to join Phi Sigma Pi to round out his collegiate experience. This goal was put on hold for three semesters, as he became 1) a Residential Assistant, 2) Scribe for Theta Tau, and 3) Pledge Instructor (similar to Recruitment and Initiate Adviser put together) for Theta Tau. After attending the Open Rush in the Spring 2008 semester, where many other Rushes thought he was already an active brother, he received a bid, and after a successful Initiate period, where other Initiates, (Kayla Newberg, particularly) still though that he was an active brother, was inducted with the rest of the Upsilon class on April 20, 2008.

Collegiate Years at Alpha Sigma Chapter

During his first semester as an active brother, Phillip served as the Recruitment Adviser, leaping straight from Initiate to Officer. This was made possible due to his previous experience in Theta Tau. With the help of his chapter, Phillip was able to have Alpha Sigma's most successful rush ever in the Fall 2008 semester, having upwards of 60 rushes come out to events. This has also lead to our large initiate class in recent history, Phi Class at 27 initiates, being lead by the phenomenal Cat Canney. All of Alpha Sigma is "Phi"-red up for Phi Class!
