Alternative Break Project, January 2010

During the 2009 National Convention Vice President of Chapter Development Kyle Williams announced that for 2010, Phi Sigma Pi will be traveling to the city of Atlanta, GA. The trip is scheduled to be held between January 3rd-January 10th. During Convention, through the Phi Sigma Pi Foundation, the fraternity would raise $16,000 dollars that would go towards Teach For America initiatives like the Alternative Break Project.

Atlanta is the capital and most populous city in the state of Georgia. With a population of 537,958, Atlanta is the thirty-third largest city in the United States, and the 28-county Atlanta Metropolitan Area is the 8th-largest such region in the United States, with more than 5,376,285 residents.[8][9] The combined area is home to 5,729,304 people and is the most populous in the Southeastern United States.

The city is well known to be a transportation and business hub. It currently has the world's busiest airport in Atlanta Hartsfield/Jackson Airport and is home to businesses such as Coca Cola, Delta Airlines, Home Depot and UPS. Notable residents of Atlanta include Dr. Martin Luther King, JR, Hank Aaron, and Julia Roberts.
