Anand was first recruited into Phi Sigma Pi by brother [[Joshua Knapp]]. Anand, like many early members, only knew one person when joining the fraternity, but quickly become involved and entrenched. Having just returned from a semester away from campus, Anand viewed it as a way to quickly become involved again during his sophomore year.
