Shannon Lindsey is an Alumni Member of Epsilon Theta Chapter (Epsilon Theta 68) at Georgia Institute of Technology. She previously was a member of EΘ's E-board as the Chapter's Recruitment Advisor, as well as holding the role of EΘ's Fellowship Committee Chair for two semesters followed by one semester as Alumni chair.

Early Fraternity Life and Career

Phi Sigma Pi came to campus during Shannon's freshman year; however, despite two roommates who were Brothers (Sarah Gammon and Kimberly Holland) it took 3 more years for her to decide to join. It was only after studying abroad at Sciences-Po in Paris, France for her 3rd year in college, when Shannon was looking forward to returning to Georgia Tech's campus and getting re-involved in student life that she realized what her collegiate life had been missing. Once back on campus she met up with one of her old roommates who told her that she should join Phi Sigma Pi because it was a great organization full of interesting people. Through spending time with the Brothers and participating in the rush events Shannon decided to pledge and on November 6th, 2009 she was inducted as Epsilon Theta's 68th brother.

Collegiate Years at Epsilon Theta Chapter

Shannon might have joined Phi Sigma Pi late in her collegiate career; however, this has yet to stop her from making an impact on the Chapter. Shortly after Induction Shannon was elected as Fellowship Committee Chair for the Spring 2010 semester. Along with guiding her committee she was able to get her first little Lauren Tanguay. During elections for the fall 2010 semester Shannon ran and was elected to be the Recruitment Advisor for Fall 2010 as well as continue on as Fellowship Chair for a second semester. Over the summer she was able to attend National Convention and participate in Grand Chapter as Epsilon Theta's alternate. In the fall, she received her second little- and second Lauren, Lauren McDonald. With two littles both named Lauren it was imperative to give them nicknames in order to distinguish the two-so Thing 1 and Thing 2 were named!

After having completed 2 successful semesters as fellowship chair and not being eligible to run again for Recruitment Advisor or any other Executive position Shannon decided to set her sights on a highly looked over chairship of Epsilon Theta; The Alumni Chair. Previously, the alumni chair had very little to do since there were very few alumni for our Chapter; however, seeing as there were an additional 15 alumni in the past year alone in addition to an active Atlanta Alumni Association close by it seemed time to start things up! Plus, since she plans on graduating in May, having an active alumni base next year is important. The Alumni Committee of Epsilon Theta proudly sent out its first Alumni Newsletter in February 2011 and hopes to continue on with it for many years to come.
