Tara Nanny (born 15 November 1986) is an Alumna of Gamma Beta Chapter (ΓΒ 268) at Morehead State University.

Early Fraternity Life and Career

Tara became a matriculate of Morehead State University in the Fall semester of 2005. As an incoming freshman, she was initiated into a Panhellenic sorority. It was through a sister in Kappa Delta that she became informed about Phi Sigma Pi. After going to a few events in the Spring semester of 2006, one at which she became well known for breaking the pinata stick, she was offered a bid from the Gamma Beta Chapter. After accepting the bid, she was soon voted into the office of President for the Psi Class along with her best friend as V.P. (who would one day become President of Gamma Beta). After a successful new member period she was initiated along with the best pledge class in Gamma Beta history. Although she could be slightly biased about the last statement.

Other Interesting Facts

Other Roles at Morehead

  • Tara recently graduated in May 2009 from Morehead State University with a Bachelors in Government(with an emphasis in Regional Analysis and Public Policy) and Philosophy.
  • She is continuing her education at Morehead by persuing a Masters in Public Administration.

Stuff

  • She is actually an only child.
  • Lived about 30 minutes from Atlanta until she was 17.
  • Played softball for 14 years with the majority of her fast pitch years as catcher.
  • She is one of the few who get to be "double Greek" and enjoys the unique situation of having both brothers and sisters.
  • Has a slight infatuation with University of Georgia football.
  • Enjoys reading books written by authors ranging from J.R.R. Tolkien, Terry Brooks, Ayn Rand, Margaret Mitchell, Charles Dickens, and so on. She enjoys reading so much in fact that she was actually grounded from the library in 3rd grade.
  • She went to Ft. Knox June 2007, and once LTC was over found out that she could do anything she set her mind to...and that she really, really loved shooting her M-16.

Future Plans

  • Tara plans to graduate with her Masters in May 2011. With this she hopes to work for the federal government, maybe even in the Pentagon dealing with Homeland Security, Foreign Affairs, or Intelligence. She has also given thought to trying a career in the military. However, she would ideally like to have a high ranking position for quite awhile and then become a professor or retire to a think tank to dabble in the political philosophy involved in creating the United States and other countries' governments.

UPDATE: Tara is currently employed at a private liberal arts college in Ohio. She is happily married and trying to figure out what she wants to be when she grows up.
