- The fraternity adopts its second official song called "Brother", written by Alpha Rho Alumnus Ted Daniels.
- The current Chapter Region system was adopted.
- The Alpha Gamma Chapter is found guilty of hazing and is the first Chapter to be suspended by the National Council.
- Omega Chapter goes inactive.
- Beta Theta Chapter goes inactive.

- April 18 - Delta Omicron Chapter is founded at the University of Mississippi
- April 22 - Delta Pi is founded at Texas Tech University

- May 1 -Delta Rho is founded at University of Northern Colorado
- May 2 - Delta Sigma is founded at the University of Colorado

- 2001 Grand Chapter Conference is held in Columbus, Ohio. Brother is adopted as an official fraternity song The current regional structure is established.
