[[Image:MNNInductions.jpg|thumb|300px|left|Alpha Sigma Initiate Class; Matt - bottom row, 2nd from right]]Matthew decided to attend West Chester University of Pennsylvania after graduating from Cicero-North Syracuse High School in 2008.  In the Spring of his freshman year, Matthew received an e-mail invitation to attend an information session about Phi Sigma Pi.  Matt never had intentions before then to join a fraternity, but he was attracted to the emphasis placed on scholarship and leadership, specifically.  He also saw this as a great way to meet people outside his major department.

Matt decided to attend West Chester University of Pennsylvania as a Forensic & Toxicological Chemistry major. He was inducted into Phi Sigma Pi in the Spring of his Freshman year on April 3, 2009 as part of the Alpha Sigma Pledge class of the Alpha Epsilon Chapter.
