The Tau Chapter Advisor is the only Alumni role that sets on the Tau Chapter Executive Council. Currently, there is one (1) Advisor that serves in the combined role of Faculty Advisor and Alumni Advisor. It is the duty of the Alumni Advisor to offer wisdom and guidance to the active Tau Brothers while the Faculty Advisor ensures that Tau Chapter remains in its respectful relation to ECU and the surrounding Greenville community.
"That's one of the nice things that continues to be, is that Tau Chapter of Phi Sigma Pi is pretty much self-organized, self-regulating, and self-governing. The Faculty Advisor has to be there to arrange for official things like getting a room to hold meetings in or something like that, but this organization runs itself pretty well. And that's part of the Leadership leg of the Tripod." -Dr. Thornton on the role of Tau Chapter Advisor.

1 Dr. Todd was invited to a dinner meeting of Tau Chapter by Dr. Flanagan. During this meeting, Dr. Flanagan suffered a fatal heart attack and Dr. Todd assumed the role of Advisor following Dr. Flanagan's death. Dr. Flanagan was serving as the National Vice President at the time of his death.
2 Dr. Batts' Brick should read '1998' instead of '1988.'
