Phi Sigma Pi Delta Eta- Charter Year

On April 20, 1999, 90 new Brothers were inducted into the Phi Sigma Pi National Co-Ed Honor Fraternity Delta Eta Chapter. The first initiates wrote the following about their experience in creating Delta Eta’s Charter.

“In a journey, it’s not just where you end up, but how you got there that matters most.

Who would have thought that in such a short time we could accomplish so much. Just look at all we’ve done in the past six weeks. We’ve created a new chapter of Phi Sigma Pi at Illinois State University. We started out by attending informal meetings and electing executive officers to lead us on the journey. Then we had to service projects, one was to raise money for the American Red Cross, and the second was helping out on National Volunteer Day. The other Greeks on campus invited us to play Jeopardy with them, and of course we won. We also took some time out to relax and have fun together at our social. Even though we were busy with fraternity events, we found time to study hard for our history exam. After all this, we were rewarded by having our brothers from Eastern Illinois and the National Representatives come join us for our first ever induction ceremony. It was a great success, 90 brother completed the journey of initiation, now we will begin to build a chapter strong in Knowledge, Leadership, and Fellowship.”
