Chapter Events & Activities

The chapter has had several successful events, including many game nights and rush events. Rush events in the fall of 2009, including game nights and a volleyball match, drew two new members for the year. The rush events in 2010 successfully drew in five prospective members, one of whom decided to withdraw from the initiate program only due to time contraints. The rush events included Brother Speed Dating, Ice Skating and an afternoon of impromptu games. In the spring of 2009, the chapter took a scholarship event to the John Ball Zoo where they had a great day learning about the animals and bonding! The chapter began the annual Backpack Attack to gather school supplies for donations for our national philantrophy, Teach for America. The chapter plans to hold this service event annually, hopefully with increasing results every year.

Founder's Weekend

Founder's Weekend 2010 will be held in the Cook-Devos Center at Grand Valley on Founder's Day.

Other Event or Activity

Zac Harmon, chair of scholarship committee, planned a successful scholarship event called Football Fantastical in 2010 that drew in chapter members and students not yet involved in Phi Sigma Pi.

Other Event or Activity

A school-wide euchre tournament is planned to take place March 26,2009 in the Grand Valley Honors College. We expect a great turn-out as we are giving out prizes to the winners!
