Mu Chapter (Founded 20 May 1930; Reactivated 28 October 1990) is located at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania. The Chapter was founded by Chapter alumnus Name and is a member of the Western Pennsylvania Region.

Chapter History

Founding

Mu Chapter was originally installed on Slippery Rock University's campus on May 20, 1930. Dr. Percival installed the chapter. The three founders during that time period were actually campus administrators: Dr. J. Linwood Eisenberg (President, Slippery Rock State Teachers College), Dr. John A. Entz (Dean of Instruction), and Dr. L.H. Wagenhorst ( Director of the Training School ).

Early Years

Six buildings on the Slippery Rock campus are named after brothers, either honorary or actual brothers who were active during that time, Vincent Science Hall, Eisenberg Classroom Building, Weisenfluh Dining Hall, N. Kerr Thompson Stadium, Patterson Hall, and Kraus Hall.

Mu Chapter was deactivated from World War II until October 28,1990. Under the great expansion efforts of Jeff Johnson (former National President, Sigma Chapter Alumni and the founder of Alpha Gamma Chapter) and Steven DiGuiseppe (former National Secretary and Sigma Chapter alumni), Mu Chapter was reactivated.

In 1996, Mu Chapter enjoyed their first success in terms of National Awards. Mu received the Joseph Torchia Outstanding Chapter Award, Top Ten Recognition, C.H. McClure Single Service Award, and the Steven A. DiGuiseppe Administrative Award.

In 2010, Mu received the Top in Region Award for the Allegheny Region.

Mu's mascot is a cow.
