Beta Nu Chapter (Founded 6 March 1994) is located at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. The Chapter is a member of the Northeast Region.

Chapter History

Founding

The Beta Nu Chapter of Phi Sigma Pi was founded March 6, 1994 by 15 Brothers. In 1996, Mari Morimoto was awarded the Richard Cecil Todd and Clauda Pennock Todd Tripod Scholarship for work in founding the Chapter.

Notable Achievements

The Beta Nu Chapter is the first in the national organization to have a house.

In 2010, the Chapter was selected to host the Northeast Region Conference in Spring 2011 for the first time since 2003.

The Current Chapter

The Beta Nu Chapter currently has 118 Active Brothers. Beta Upsilon's members are active in the Cornell community, participating in various clubs ranging from social fraternities/sororities to honor societies to various registered student organizations around campus, but remain united through Phi Sigma Pi.

Founder's Weekend

Alpha celebrates the Chapter's founding...

Retreat

In the Fall of 2009, the Chapter decided to better foster Brother cohesion by organizing a weekend-long Brother retreat. Held at Fieldstone Suites, the retreat was organized by the Big Event Committee and turned out over 40 Brothers and then voted the Best Event of the semester. The following semester the Chapter held another retreat, this time at Comstock Girl Scout Camp, which turned out over half of the Active Brothers. Traditional events at retreat include Truth or Dare, Fishbowl/charades, a campfire circle, and t-shirt circles.

At the 2010 National Convention, the Beta Nu Chapter presented on Retreats.
